  • We are currently looking to expand our Experience Design (XD) team, and are looking for Experience Designer's to work on our highest value and most challenging client engagements.

    Who are you?

You are first and foremost an exceptional designer.

You don’t narrowly define yourself as an interaction designer, a visual designer, a “UX-er” or an experience architect. You may be mainly one of these, but have a breadth of abilities that covers the others. You have a passion for world-class design, a fascination with technology, and a facility for the tools of the trade that makes it almost effortless for you to express your ideas visually.

You are already working on digital experiences that extend beyond the constraints of “web design” to deliver deep user value across devices and platforms.

You are equal parts problem framer and problem solver, and know when to apply instinct as well as intellect in pursuit of a solution. You know when to explore and when to synthesize, and have an innate ability to think logically but to apply that thinking creatively. You are committed to user-centered design principles, and can talk to your substantial experience in practising them.

You are a listener and a learner, and can innovate with empathy. You are tenacious in pursuit of the best imaginable experience; you’re a stickler for detail, and an advocate of the principle that “good enough” isn’t good enough. You deliver high quality artifacts unfailingly under pressure, and can adapt quickly to shifting requirements and priorities.

You excel in a collaborative environment and are used to working closely with software engineering teams and project stakeholders.

Above all, you have an outstanding portfolio of work that speaks to your skills in creating innovative solutions to real user problems.

    The Role

As an Experience Designer, you will be a key member of our Experience Design team, working closely with your colleagues to deliver inspired, design-led digital experiences for our clients and their users. You will be joining a growing team responsible for creating innovative solutions that fundamentally impact the way people get things done, and will have the opportunity to contribute fresh ideas and new ways of working that help achieve that goal.

Your role will include – depending on your unique combination of skills and experience – many of the following responsibilities:

    • Working with our customers to reframe their business problems in user terms
    • Participating in project scoping and briefing workshops
    • Planning, leading and facilitating design-led innovation workshops and ethnographic user research
    • Capturing and synthesizing customers’ business imperatives, functional requirements, user needs and technology landscapes to drive out opportunities for innovation.
    • Working with other members of the XD team to create solutions that turn these opportunities into compelling “lean-forward” experiences
    • Producing – according to your skill set – high quality deliverables including experience audits, personas, concept storyboards, use cases, functional wireframes, visual design comps and interactive prototypes.
    • Working closely and confidently with other team members – designers and developers – alongside clients and key stakeholders
    • Actively seeking out feedback and constantly challenging both your own ideas and those of others on your team
    • Managing your own and others’ time and deliverables against agreed schedules and commitments

    The Person

    • You may have a BA, BSc or other degree, but you will certainly have an exceptional passion for design and a deep understanding of fundamental user experience design principles
    • Extensive experience in a consultancy or product design setting
    • An exceptional portfolio of your own work, showcasing creative thinking in solutions across platforms and devices
    • Substantial experience in delivering a broad range of UX design assets
    • Unconscious expertise in appropriate software tools
    • Demonstrable ability to work confidently and effectively with a design-led engineering team
    • Exceptional communicator, in ink or on your feet
    • Ideally, knowledge and experience of Agile methodology
    • Whilst not essential, it would be nice if you had an understanding of HTML5 and CSS
